Dominick Fuel Continues Commitment to Replanting in State Forests Through Arbor Day Foundation Partnership
Lincoln, Neb. (May 15, 2012) – Dominick Fuel, a family owned and operated fuel company in southern Connecticut, will team up with the Arbor Day Foundation on replanting trees in high-need state forests for the third consecutive year.
Over the past three years, Dominick Fuel has made a donation on behalf of their customers to plant 25,000 trees in total.
In previous years, Dominick Fuel has worked with the Foundation to plant 10,000 trees in both the Washington Department of Natural Resources Northwest Region in 2010 and Florida’s Myakka State Forest in 2011. Replanting trees in these forests was critical in restoring the environmental and recreational benefits, as well as ensuring the vitality of wildlife habitat.
Dominick Fuel will continue its commitment to the health of our nation’s forests this year by supporting 5,000 new trees in Pere Marquette State Forest in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, contributing to the habitat needed to save the Kirkland’s warbler songbird from extinction.
“We're very pleased to continue working with a company like Dominick Fuel that recognizes the importance of replanting trees in state forests,” said Ben Nelson, director of corporate partnerships for the Arbor Day Foundation.
The tree planting in state forests is part of the Arbor Day Foundation’s continued partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, the National Association of State Foresters and the National Association of State Park Directors.
